Off-Line Support and Education
In addition to what is available online, the investor may attend educational seminars, workshops and conferences to increase knowledge and trading skills. There are a wide variety of training workshops available, from the informational programs offered by brokerage houses to in-depth, intensive three-day workshops on trading techniques. In most areas, traders have formed support groups, where they can meet and discuss trading issues.
Local colleges now offer beginning courses for investors, covering such areas as money management, retirement planning, investing in mutual funds, and online investing. These courses may be another place to meet and gain the support of like-minded investors. And, of course, there are a growing number of books aimed for online traders and investors.

While the investor at home may feel isolated from other investors, there is no shortage of information flowing to him or her. While the Web has a tremendous amount of valuable information that may be accessed, one result of this abundance is the ease with which we end up feeling overwhelmed. This is certainly the case when it comes to sites related to the world of investing.
The number of sites for stock analysis, charting, quotes, commentary, portfolio tracking, company web sites, education, news, and chat is more than any investor can possibly manage to sort through. Even trying to get a grip on the thousands of web sites by going to a comprehensive site that helps organize the material is itself a daunting task.
